Details

The Apostolic Faith Church is a conservative, Bible-believing denomination that traces its origins to the Azusa Street Revival of 1906. Founded by Florence Crawford, the church has grown to include hundreds of congregations worldwide, with a significant presence in Portland, Oregon. The church upholds core doctrines such as the Trinity, repentance, salvation, sanctification, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit, as outlined in their Our Faith section.

Worship services at the Apostolic Faith Church are traditional and centered around music, testimonies, and Bible-based sermons. The church is known for its youth programs, including the Northwest Youth Camp and Vacation Bible School, which provide opportunities for spiritual growth and community building. The Portland Church serves as the headquarters, overseeing operations and outreach efforts led by Superintendent General Sola Adesope.

The church offers a variety of resources for spiritual development, including the Apostolic Faith Magazine, Daily Devotional, and Daybreak Devotional. These resources are part of a broader publishing ministry that began with the original Apostolic Faith newspaper during the Azusa Revival.

Facilities include a campground for events like the Christmas on the Campground and Camp Meetings, which feature music, youth activities, and evangelistic meetings. The church also maintains a Library of Resources with historical materials, curriculum, and doctrinal teachings.

Newcomers are encouraged to attend services or events, with specific details available on the Events page. The church emphasizes the importance of personal faith and community involvement, with a focus on preparing for the return of Jesus Christ.

I was glad to finally visit this church! I came to Portland while driving my 18-wheeler cross country. I grew uo in the Apostolic Faith branch church located in Pensacola FL. Let me clear up some things I’ve seen said about this church, 1… it’s not a cult! 2… we do watch tv! 3… the truth of God is taught & preached in this organization. 4… the cabins are for the camp meeting services held yearly as people come from around the world to enjoy campmeeting. The ones who live in Portland, with so much to say, but have never visited…. You need Jesus. At AFC Jesus definitely resides! Make sure He is in your heart too!

Nothing shares the message of a loving Jesus quite like barricading off all the street parking for two city blocks and posting illegal campsite messages outside of a church campground. Maybe the congregation's leaders should read up on loving thy neighbor? I feel like there's a story in the Bible about an unsheltered teenage mother that might offer them spiritual guidance...

There is a beautiful blend of spirituality, natural beauty, edification, and continued heritage of godliness in one space here. Every moment spent here is worth it all! If your goal in life is to live a victorious life and inherit internity with Jesus, please connect with this church.

Went to the campgrounds to see the lights it was amazing! They had live animals and a petting zoo for everyone. Parking is on the street or across the street from the campground at the main church, there was plenty of parking at the church. This is a free event. Inside the main building at the campground they were putting on live performances of the Nativity.

I have been here for almost 2 years and it is great! There are classes for each grade. The activities you do there are super fun and the students that also go there are great. The teachers care about everyone there. And there are activities you can do there and go to for example Youth Camp! In my opinion it is great and I am only eleven years old.

Clean, well lit. Wheelchair accessible bathrooms. Often there are members who volunteer as sign language interpreters. Drinking fountains and hand sanitizer at regular intervals, and I think I saw a table with masks somewhere.
