  I’ve been coming to the Islamic Center of Mastic-Shirley since I was a kid, and it has always felt like a second home to me. The masjid is peaceful, welcoming, and the community is very kind and supportive. The imam and volunteers do a great job keeping the masjid active with prayers and programs. I’m grateful to have grown up coming here and being part of such a great community Alhamdulillah!

  I have been going to this masjid since I was a child. I am now 22, and have been to many other mosques around the country and even a few in Africa. However, the community of this masjid is like no other. Every time I come back here, it feels like I’m coming back home. May Allah continue to bless this community

  Alhamdulillah excellent masjid, the community and the management. Great place to pray and very welcoming. Doors are always open for prayer, highly recommend to stop by and pray. Great location, located near major highway.

  Alhamdulilah came for the month of Ramadan to lead the taraweeh prayers from abroad and the hospitality kindness and work of the brothers here has been absolutely amazing. Not only is the youth very involved with the masjid but the community is very lively and always giving a helping hand.

  Their sheikh constantly harasses people in the masjid for no reason and you’re expected to bend the knee, remain silent and fall in line. He lashed out at me suddenly for eating in the same corner I ate in with some other brothers for the whole month, and because I told him I don’t want any problems, his entourage came down on me, followed by one of their top guys basically telling me he has connections and that he’ll get the police commissioner to take some legal action against me. Beware this community

  Alhamdulilah I’ve been going to this masjid since I was a toddler. This masjid started as the first masjid for people in Shirley and mastic within a 20 minute radius. Since that day it has grown to a masjid of a few hundred and soon enough, a few thousand. During this journey the masjid has housed dozens, fed thousands, and reverted countless. This masjid is the heart of the ummah in this area.

  A very welcoming and peaceful masjid. Clean, well-maintained, and organized, with a calm atmosphere that makes salah easy to focus on. The community is friendly and respectful, and the space is comfortable for prayer. A great blessing for the Shirley area.
