  I have never felt so unwanted in a church. My kids attend awaken elementary school, love it. We typically attend Hope church and love it but have thought about finding a church closer. So we went to Awaken today, as my kid was performing for Easter service. I was immediately greeted with my one year-old being told I needed to sit in the back. I explained that my other child would be on stage. I was told I needed to sit in the back regardless, after some back-and-forth they allowed me to sit near the front, but told me after worship I needed to move... I was then told the same thing by three other ushers that walked past and seen I had a toddler. I handed my toddler off to family and went to retrieve my daughter who had just came off stage and was told she couldn't come sit by us and I needed to take her to the "kid area" at this point I was fuming, it's Easter... every service should be family friendly, but especially holiday services. After the sixth person told me I needed to take my kids and go to the back... Mind you they were not being loud at all and worship was still going on, so even if they had you wouldn't have been able to hear them... I went to the back to finish out service... Two minutes into the service, I seen two different ushers tell a toddler to be quiet and try to hush them with a toy and they approached the mom and the mother took the child and walked out... again this kid was babbling not even loudly.... I followed behind and will never enter a church service here again. This should be marketed as adult only church, or church where children should be seen and not heard.... Their family room had seats along every wall so you couldn't even see the service as the tv was behind and above your head, it was full with no where to sit. There was no couches or anywhere to lay a sleeping baby. I took my toddler to the foyer and there was no where to sit so I went outside and had to sit on a step for remaining of service. I went to look for the pastor after service and he was no where to be found. I've been to many churches here and all have been family friendly... except the one who literally owns a school... I will drive my 30 minutes to Hope Church where my kids are wanted and families are not just welcome but they are gracefully accommodated. Also.... I was talking to another church goer here and she was saying their priorities must be messed up because they have a coffee shop in the foyer and they sell coffee and bakery items... you can take the coffee in but you cannot eat the bakery items in the chapel... I'm just in disbelief at this place... now I'm rethinking the whole school aspect.

  I miss attending this church due to covid but I’m glad we were able to attend Sunrise Service this Easter Sunday. I’ve always attended a Calvary Chapel Church since Downey California back in 2003. This particular Chapel is also amazing. Pastor Derek is a blessing to us and this church. I highly recommend this place for your spiritual journey. I pray you find the real love, joy and peace that only comes from having Jesus Christ.

  The leadership at this church are doing some incredible things and focus on what scripture calls us to do versus what other modern churches are doing. Pastor Derek is a compassionate speaker who isn’t afraid to teach the congregation as pupils of the Word or God. Leadership here are humble and encourage us to work for the glory of the kingdom of heaven and regard themselves as called on in the same way each of us in the congregation are. Aside from that awesomeness, the praise & worship team is truly incredible. The Holy Spirit is present with them and poured out among all of us as we gather in praise & worship. I’ve never been happier and have visited many non-denominational churches in Las Vegas. I’ve finally found my home! Please consider this church as you made decisions and search for your church home!

  We love this Church we started going every Sunday when we discovered this but, Been sad of what happened earlier. this Church is too sensitive of small noise from children. Earlier we were ask to go to the other room even thou my kids and some of other kids are not making any noise because prayer is about to start. What’s the purpose of bringing your family to church if very small kids noise are not allowed in the worship center. We walked out. They should have put a sign no children allowed. 😔

  My wife and I attended service while on vacation. This place is GREAT! Solid worship and preaching. The congregation is on 🔥 Totally engaged in the worship and message. The first message I can remember with action steps! Love you guys 😀 …

  I am not historically a very religious person. I started going here after my daughter started to attend. I go every week now. I really like the energy and I always leave feeling good.

  We love Awaken church and Pastor Derek. Unfortunately, we had to stop going because of an issue in our 3 year olds Sunday school class. There is always a teenage boy there helping out, which my husband and I find to be completely inappropriate for a toddler program. We were not comfortable with it at all, but the final straw was when my husband heard him ask one of the children if they needed to use the restroom. We are unsure if he is taking children to use the restroom by himself or what. A teenage boy in a toddler program is completely inappropriate. He is probably a nice boy and probably won’t do anything to the kids, but we can’t go by probably, we need to be smart. If you choose to go to this church and you have a toddler, be very cautious about the Sunday school program. Bad judgement on Awakens part.

  My home church is elsewhere, but I visit often and have several friends here. Their VBS is fantastic, and they now have walkthrough videos to show you where you are going if you are unfamiliar with the church layout. It's so helpful for those who may get anxious in new places or who need to have a "plan" ahead of time so they know what to expect. Great work!

  I was an out of town visitor and was welcomed with open arms. It was a warm and friendly atmosphere, worshipping our Lord and Savior. The teaching was good, as well.

  Been here about 6-7 times. I loved this church. I’m giving this church 4 stars because it’s not baby/toddler friendly. Yes, they have an entire building dedicated to children's ministry and they also have a nursery but let’s be real…If you’re a parent you know that not all days is sunshine and rainbows, some days my kids are great and some days they are stuck to my hip. If I can’t bring my children into the house of the Lord then that church is not for us. Here is how I look at it. Jesus loves the little children and he even said that we too should be like children. And we are, we are his children. A child of God. We are learning. As a parent, I’m teaching my child that in the house of the Lord we must be quite and respectful. They will get it down with trial and error. I just wish that the staff (ushers) would be more gracious about it instead of pushing me out at every sound my baby makes. Sadly I won’t be back here. Will try again when my babies are older or maybe when the standards are lower. I still love you all. It was nice while it lasted. God bless 🙏🏼
