  There was a time in my life when I felt forgotten. My childhood wasn’t easy. My dad battled alcoholism and addiction. My mom left when I was 2 years old for another relationship. Growing up, I often felt like I came second. Like everyone else was chosen before me. Over and over again. That kind of pain changes a child. It creates wounds you carry into adulthood. It creates questions you spend years asking. “Why wasn’t I enough?” I carried hurt. Rejection. Abandonment. Confusion. But God. God found me in places nobody knew I was hurting. My daddy died by suicide during my last semester of nursing school. One of the hardest seasons of my life. A season where grief sat heavy on my chest. A season where I could have quit. But I didn’t. Because somehow through every broken piece of my story, God kept carrying me. I became a nurse because of what I lived through. Because I know what it feels like to need someone who sees your pain. To need safety. Compassion. Love. To need someone to look at you and say, “You matter.” I became the person I needed when I was younger. And then there was my Papa. My rock. My safe place. The man who stepped into places in my life that felt empty. When cancer came into his life, I remember leaving church one Sunday and feeling something so strong in my spirit. “Go pray over your Papa.” I had never prayed over someone before. I didn’t know what to say. I drove there anyway. I sat beside him. Took his hand in mine. Got on my knees. At first, there were no words. And then suddenly… there were. Words that didn’t feel like mine. Words full of peace. Words full of love. Words that felt like they were falling straight out of my soul. In that moment, I realized something. God doesn’t need perfection. He needs surrender. My life hasn’t been easy. I’ve walked through abandonment. Addiction. Loss. Grief. Pain. Heartbreak. But God took every broken piece and started building something beautiful. I am not what happened to me. I am not the people who left. I am not the pain I survived. I am a daughter of God. I am proof that pain can become purpose. I am proof that God still heals. And if someone reading this feels forgotten, abandoned, unseen, or broken… Please hear me: God sees you. God has not left you. And your story isn’t over yet. Looking back now, I can see God’s hand in every part of my story — even the parts that nearly broke me. Every heartbreak, every loss, every prayer, every moment I felt abandoned, He was still there. And part of His purpose for my life was leading me to Legacy Church. Legacy became more than a church; it became part of my healing, my growth, and my faith. God took pain that could have destroyed me and turned it into purpose. Through Legacy, He reminded me that broken things are not useless things — they are things He can rebuild. And He rebuilt me.

  Every moment I enter the doors, I feel the presence of God. The congregation is so warm and what my soul has needed. The Pastor is so real and encourages that every opportunity is to reach more people. His wife is a precious jewel with so much knowledge. The Lord speaks to her during her special time to speak. I feel that I have found a piece of Jesus that I know I must share but want to hold it in my to myself☺️❤️🙏🏽

  Legacy Church has truly been life-changing for me. As a fairly new Christian, Legacy Church has been such a blessing in my life. From the very beginning, I’ve felt real community here.
