In my journey, I am just at a place where community in my faith is an important priority to me. That said, I was looking for a church community that would make me feel welcomed, supported, and comfortable as I explore what my walk with God means to me. Empowerment Church, is that and so much more! The first time I went, I remember walking up to the door and being greeted by Pastors Torrey and Alaina with a smile and a friendly hug. This is such a special and kind gesture that instantly made me feel welcome and at ease in my vulnerability. And the welcoming spirit didn’t stop there as I walked through the door I was greeted by more kind faces. From the song worship to the interactive sermon, empowerment feels very intentional in living God’s Word and integrating the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Intentionality is very important to me as I am recovering from just going through the motions of life. Another thing I can appreciate about Empowerment is they make sure, before anything, you are aligned with the missions and values of the church. This is refreshing because sometimes faith institutions can feel judgmental and forced, Empowerment truly practices its name sake in the way they realize it is ultimately about you and God, but God’s people need God’s people. I am so grateful God has led me to Empowerment, and I look forward to practicing and growing on my spiritual practice as a part of the community here.

I’m truly grateful for Empowerment Church NOLA. It has been such a blessing to my family and me. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the welcoming and uplifting atmosphere. One thing I really appreciate is the fill-in notes—they make it easy to stay engaged, follow along with the message, and actually apply what’s being taught. It shows intentionality in helping people grow. Also, the website is always current and informative, which makes staying connected and involved so much easier. This church has been a place of encouragement, growth, and consistency for us, and I’m thankful to be part of it.

When I relocated to New Orleans in March 2020, just weeks later the COVID-19 pandemic turned all of our lives upside down. During that uncertain season, I was searching for a new church home. Until I found one, I faithfully watched online services from my home church in Lafayette, staying spiritually grounded while adjusting to my new city. In time, I felt led by the Holy Spirit to begin watching the online services of Empowerment Church. What started as simply tuning in online soon became something much deeper. Eventually, I attended an in-person service—and from the very first Sunday, I knew I was home. Pastors Torrey and Alaine don’t just preach; they teach the Word of God with clarity, power, and authenticity. Their messages are biblically sound, practical, and life-changing. You can truly feel the anointing and the heart they have for God’s people. From the powerful worship experience on Sundays to the impactful teachings, from the prayer line on Tuesdays and Thursdays to Bible study (which I faithfully watch online due to my work schedule), every aspect of this ministry confirms that this is exactly where I am meant to be. Empowerment Church has strengthened my faith, stretched my understanding of God’s Word, and surrounded me with a community that feels like family. This is more than a place I attend—it is a place where I grow, serve, and belong. I am grateful that even in the middle of a pandemic and major life transition, God ordered my steps and led me to my church home

Great atmosphere, very welcoming church that makes me feel at home. Not a traditional church like what I grew up around, which I prefer. Pastor Torrey & Alaina are awesome and really care about the inclusion of all. Highly recommended!

I was recommended by a friend to visit Empowerment Church, and from my very first visit I instantly knew this was a church I wanted to be a part of. I continued coming week after week, and each time the feeling remained the same. Everyone is so welcoming-Pastor Torrey and his wife Pastor Alaina even greeted us in the parking lot, which really made a lasting impression. If you are considering visiting Empowerment Church, you most definitely should. One thing I truly look forward to every service is the worship. When I tell you the worship team is fantastic, I mean it! The sermons are always powerful and engaging. I leave feeling like I actually learned something, stayed connected the entire time, and never lost focus. Truly an amazing experience! I’m grateful to now call Empowerment Church my church home.

If you are looking for a down to earth, teaching ministry that exemplifies the love of God then Empowerment is for you. I felt peace the moment I walked onto campus. I wasn't pushed to do anything or join, but just to enjoy worshipping God. The delivery of the Word is practical in a way that everyone understands and will have gems to leave with...and oh, you actually get to drink your water, coffee, hot tea or chocolate IN THE SANCTUARY!!! Just give it a try...no pressure.

Upon visiting Empowerment Church, I knew that the concept of learning and growing and maturing in the areas of God and self would be a priority, and that I totally needed to tap in to what God was doing here in this Ministry. So thankful my wife and I found our place, our people, and a place to tap into God’s purpose for our lives.

If you want a church that feeds your spirit and always makes you feel welcomed, Empowerment Church is for you. Aside from everyone being genuinely nice, the pastor and the first lady preach and teach. I've learned so much about the word and myself in a short time. If you desire to volunteer, there are plenty of available ministries. The music touches your soul, and you're surrounded by people of all ages and ethnicities. I encourage you to try them out. Service is available online and in person.
