  Not much of a yelp reviewer, but the way I was treated made me more angry than I have been in years. My boyfriend and I are going through the moving process and brought a fair amount of misc household items over for donation. I was told to walk it down the stairs, which is fine, but after I brought down 2 boxes and a couple of bigger stand alone items, the employee stood at the bottom of the steps as I was coming down, going through one of the boxes (hadn't even touched the second yet), and as rudely as she could have possibly been, told me that "everything in these boxes are broken, why did you even bring this trash in here and not just have thrown it all away?". I calmly apologized and stated I was unaware of anything being broken, stated it must have happened as we were bringing it over, and asked her what was broken and if she'd like me to take it back. She continued to go off on me that "the entire box is trash". When I said okay, I can come down and take it back out to throw it away, she told me no and to just leave and not to bring anything else down, including what I had in my hands. My boyfriend then walked down the stairs to see what all was broken, and the only thing she actually had to say was broken was a pair of old binoculars. I guess I'm a horrible person to have thought the some little kid may have thought they were cool and bought them for 2 bucks. My boyfriend again apologized and offered to carry it back out, and she told him no again and just to leave and not leave anything else. If she had just politely stated that the store wouldn't have any use for any of the items I brought in, I would have gladly taken them back out to my truck. There really just was no need to have been so rude and angry. Upsetting because I'd much rather do my thrift shopping there instead of give my money to a large corporation like goodwill, but I will not be returning after the way I was treated today.

  Horrible customer service. CSR screams out at the end of the day 20 minutes till closing. Bring your stuff to the register. Both times I’ve been in there nobody greets you. Nobody says hi to you. Nobody says goodbye to you. Nobody smiles at you. Like be nice. It’s not that hard.

  Vintage clothes sold here. Salvation army helps those in crisis. Personally, I enjoy shopping at the Madison Indiana location. If you're looking for a worthy cause to donate, the Salvation Army!

  I always find goodies here and the prices are quite reasonable (and still far less than Goodwill). They carry clothing, shoes, and accessories, books, craft stuff, home goods and decor, seasonal items, some furniture, small selection of kids toys, pet supplies, sporting goods, movies, music, & electronics. Convenient location and hours.

  My best friend and I used to go all the time. Went during the summer and the lady was extremely rude to my mother and when going back today I witnessed her being rude to an older women because the card reader was down and the old woman didn’t have cash. Not to mention prices have gone way up. We really miss Judy, things seem to have gone down hill even more since she left. My friend and I will not be back.

  Thieves. This store charged my card twice because their machine ran out of paper and the bumbling clerk didn't know if the charge went through without paper to confirm it. I asked for a return of my money and was told "they don't do refunds." It's not a refund if you're reversing your error. I was told I could have $20 in store credit. It's not easy to get to this store when they're open, and no guarantee you'll find $20 worth of anything that you want, but I accepted the offer. When I returned to collect my credit, the manager, Carolyn Marsh, argued and asked how she knew any of this story was true, despite having spoken with her on the phone regarding the issue. She smirked, as if to convey "I know it's true, you know it's true, but you can't prove it--so I'm just going to rip you off." She "allowed" me to recoup $5 of my money they had taken with a credit for the donated merchandise I had selected on that visit. I hope the $15 is worth it, because I'll never miss a chance to tell people how this place operates. Where else can you buy that kind of perpetual advertising for $15? They sure don't value truth, honesty or keeping your word.

  Well i used to love coming here. Not anymore. New manager is a straight b!@#h. Wanted to pick and chose what she wanted for store. Wouldnt take all the new long johns and socks i was donating but wanted all the new stuff still in boxes. Never again will i help this store out. I will take my stuff to dump or goodwill from now on.

  Apparently if you know someone working there they will hold items for you and not sell it to the person there to buy it. Very disappointing, I know where not to go any more.

  I like this place. I think the money I spend here goes to better use than at other places. Things are usually reasonably priced. My only complaint is the limited hours that they are open. Maybe they have limited staff but I'm not sure.

  Having a fractured for made it a little difficult going down the stairs. Didn't find anything we wanted, but we also we in a little rush. Next time we'll go slower.
