This church is filled with people who genuinely care about everyone who walks in the door. The staff especially works so hard to make it a welcoming place for people of ALL ages. There are programs and small groups for all ages, specifically kids ministry, youth ministry, and all sorts of adult small groups! Also, The pastor is incredible. His heart is for God’s people and growing the Kingdom. He is passionate about serving both the Church and the lost and encourages everyone to do the same. The worship is also great! You can tell the worship pastor greatly values worshiping as a church and not just as individuals, which is how corporate worship should be! I highly recommend this church!!!

This is a loving and welcoming congregation. The pastor preaches God's Word clearly and unashamedly. They have small group Bible study for all ages every Sunday at 9:00am and worship at 10:15. The worship music style is a great mix of hymn and contemporary songs. They also have women's Bible studies every Thursday morning and evening. If you have children/teenagers, the children's director and student minister are great!

Our family had been part of the daycare and preschool at First Baptist Church of Fairview Heights for years. Our daughter attended and had a wonderful experience filled with faith-based learning and special moments like Christmas choir recitals. Naturally, we enrolled our son as well, and he was thriving there for over a year. Unfortunately, the church abruptly decided to shut down the childcare center. The pastor claimed the facilities were in poor condition—with dirty rooms, holes in the drywall, and a need for remodeling. As parents who had been in every room, we can confidently say that was simply not true. The classrooms were well-kept, clean, and in no worse condition than any other daycare we’ve seen. The pastor also said the decision was made to somehow allow the church to “reach more children” with God’s word. We’re still trying to understand how closing a Christian daycare and forcing families—like ours—to turn to secular alternatives accomplishes that. Our son will now miss out on the same faith-based education and meaningful experiences our daughter received. The reasoning behind the closure felt disingenuous, and our interactions with the pastor left us feeling misled and disappointed. Based off of this, I wouldn’t recommend this church to anyone.

The pastor of this church really Loves Jesus and gives only the truth. Really happy that God has used pastor Scott to help bring an understanding to the scriptures in a genuine, gentle, and loving way. Highly recommend stopping by this church if you can.

I have been a member of this church since 1994, we have gone through many ups and downs, not to mention turnover in staff but, I would not have remained at this church if God had other plans. I believe through the ups and downs we as a church body have grown in fellowship by loving and caring for one another deeply. I have read some of the reviews about the day care closing down and don't believe consideration was given to the purpose for the closure. We are working diligently on improving our facilities, so it was necessary to make some changes. Having addressed the negative comments, I want you to know this is a loving, caring church body. The church isn't the building, it's the people who occupy the building, and we are obligated to maintaining the building for the community, so come one, come all and experience the love of God.

A wonderful church with a Pastor who is leading the congregation through some tough facilities issues while always modeling the love of Jesus Christ. Wonderful programs for kids and adults with a congregation that truly cares for one another while welcoming newcomers with open arms.

This was a good place to land after coming from a place of turmoil. The church has accepted us with open arms. You can see God moving in the congregation as they work through facility issues, the like of which I have never seen before.

Loving congregation with activities for all ages. Great small group Bible studies for adults. Great youth ministry with the wonderful staff.

A very friendly caring congregation. Great messages from the pastor. The church provides Sunday morning child and adult Sunday school / Bible studies. Also, there are many other programs to be involved in. The staff and congregation are attentive to your life's and will pray for and/or with you.

It is a place of worship where you can truly feel the presence of God. His word is taught and preached only from the Bible expressed in a way that would be understandable to all men. All of the Bible not just that God loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son so that we may have eternal life. Music is an inspiration. From college students to little children are adored and loved. It is also a warm and caring place for seniors.

I visited this church and really enjoyed being amongst such a diverse congregation singing such beautiful worship songs. My soul rejoiced as the pastor taught the uncompromising WORD OF GOD. I would be more than happy to visit again; as I realize even more that GOD IS SPIRIT and they that worship HIM, must worship HIM in spirit and in truth.🎉😊💒

I have been attending since October last fall, 2013. I write this as I am because this is how I found First Baptist of Fairview Heights, by looking on the internet. When it came up today the article that jumped out at me was the charge against an individual. This needed to be stopped. But the church should not be judged on one human individual's actions. This is the Devil at work. Now it is in God's hands. I understand our Pastor, Dr. Jim Kerr, has been here about 2 yrs. I regret that this came to light under this Pastor,but how he handled it speaks a lot of who he is. For anyone making a decision to not to attend or continue to attend is missing out and denying themselves of True Christian Fellowship and being taught, and learn the Truth of the Bible with such clarity and expression that it is easily understood. And you would miss our Music Ministry of inspirational Praise and Worship that prepares us for Worship and leaves you in Awe! On June 30th, Luke Henry will begin as our Pastor to the Youth. He brings an inspiring testimony and is a graduate of O'Fallon High School. Don't let the Devil lead you away.Come see for yourself. When we come together as Believers and Christians we are stronger than he is. God is with us! I am thankful that God guided me, after much prayer,to this church for I feel the Presence of the Lord when I am here or with the people here. Our Pastor and those around him give off being truly Godly people. Come join us. We welcome you!
