  My husband & I visited for the 1st time today. The people were so welcoming and we didn't feel pressured like most pushy churches would try to bless you right out the front doors. God definitely spoke to us today, the message was spiritual reviving, and we felt the Holy Spirit through worship. The lights kinda blinded us on the top balcony and the music was banging through our core. I'm not too much into the hype or flashy entertainment, but as long as the message cuts like a double edged sword. Holy Fire reigned down today!

  I visited Redemption Church recently and wanted to see what the hype was about. The church definitely has a high-energy, concert-style atmosphere, there’s a DJ outside, greeters dancing around, flashy cars in the huge parking lot, and a production-heavy vibe. If you’re new to church or enjoy a very lively, event-like experience, this might appeal to you. What surprised me, though, was how much of the service felt like advertising for upcoming paid programs. It felt longer than the actual message itself. When Pastor Ron came up to give the sermon, I expected some teaching or guidance. Instead, he mostly repeated short phrases like “God is good” or “Hallelujah” a few times, then closed with a very brief prayer, just a couple sentences. That’s completely valid as a form of worship, but if you’re looking for a sermon with teaching, Scripture breakdown, or practical application, this church may leave you feeling like something’s missing. I left feeling a bit confused and underfed spiritually. Redemption Church clearly knows how to create a lively, welcoming experience, but for someone seeking depth and teaching, it didn’t meet that need.

  All the times I’ve went to the church now redemption, I love god more & more for one all of the other people elders & kids seem just as happy to love god as I do,for that along I love coming to redemption church, Also the preacher, the sermons & the music always touches me, niothing is left off the table with the preacher, I that so very much as well, redemption will continue to save & love the world from what I see curry at redemption church, please keep touching , welcoming all lives at Redemption Church as I know you do all love Ronny

  I travel from Oakland CA to San Jose CA on Sundays, travel time 45 mins. Well worth my travels. The raw Word is taught here and how to apply it to your life. The elevated Word is on fire! Preach pastor, preach! Teaching instruction, nudging of the Holy Spirit, and Keys to the Kingdom!

  I’ve been attending the morning (English) services at Redemption Church for the past two months and have truly loved the worship, the teaching, and the welcoming atmosphere. It’s been a place of comfort and connection for me during a challenging season of life. Today, I wasn’t able to make it to the morning service, so I decided to try the Spanish service instead. I had just come from the gym and was wearing a hoodie and shorts — nothing inappropriate, just what I had on. More importantly, I came carrying a lot of emotional weight after losing both a patient I cared for and my grandmother in the same week. I really needed to be in church today. As I was walking in, I was approached by a female volunteer wearing a Redemption Church t-shirt who made a judgmental comment about my attire. That moment made me feel unwelcome and ashamed — not because of what I wore, but because I was already grieving and had come seeking peace and support. Instead, I left feeling worse. I’m sharing this not out of anger, but in the hope that this church — which I’ve grown to care about — will remember the importance of grace over appearances. People walk through those doors at their most vulnerable. What they need most is kindness, not correction. I still believe in the heart of Redemption Church, and I hope this feedback is received in the spirit of love and growth.

  TL;DR: If you’re looking for a come-as-you-are church with immersive lights/graphics, Southern-style preaching, and a praise team that’ll have your soul standing on its tippy toes—this is worth a visit. My wife and I live in the San Jose area, and like a lot of African Americans in the South Bay, we’ve had plenty of moments where we’re the “few and far between” in a room. Not always a bad thing—but it does mean you learn to be thoughtful about where you spend your time, and especially where you worship. For us, that includes doing more homework than we’d like before stepping into a new church, because the vibe matters when you’re looking for community, not just a service. The truth is we’ve been searching for a multicultural experience—one that feels warm, welcoming, and reflective of the real community around us. A place where you don’t feel like a visitor, or a checkbox, or someone who needs to “adjust” to belong. I’m writing this the day after visiting Redemption Church, and here’s my honest takeaway: it’s a funky (in the best way) hybrid of Southern hot-stepping energy and organ-tinged worship… dropped right into a Bay Area setting. The pastor is from South Carolina, and you feel that—in the cadence, the conviction, the way he preaches with both fire and heart. It’s not performative; it’s alive. And the congregation? Genuinely comforting. Not the overly smiley, “welcome-bomb” kind of friendly—more like the steady, sincere warmth that tells you, you’re safe here. My wife and I cried during praise and worship. Not a little misty-eyed—full, “something in me just unclenched” tears. The praise team is beyond talented, and it’s not just skill for skill’s sake. They create a space that makes it easy to lean in and feel close to God, whether you walked in strong or walked in tired. The message was powerful, and after a year-plus of searching (and a lot of “almost, but not quite” experiences), we left thinking: We might have found our home. And the wild part? That was after one visit.

  My fiancé and I recently visited this church for the first time, and we genuinely wanted to love it. There’s so much potential here—welcoming community, a great message, and a sense of energy that’s refreshing. You can tell the people here care. But the volume… wow. It was uncomfortably loud. We expected lively worship, but this felt more like a concert at a stadium. The sound system was overpowering to the point that we left with our ears ringing. I kept waiting for someone to turn it down—or for others to say something—but it seems like no one does. Maybe they’re used to it? It’s really unfortunate, because we actually liked a lot about it and wanted to come back. But physically, we just couldn’t take it. I wish there were a way to enjoy everything they have to offer without leaving with a headache. If they ever address the sound levels, we’d definitely reconsider.

  I always struggled with my faith ever since I was taught from a young age about Christianity. For awhile I distanced myself from the church and everything that had to do with it. I am so incredibly thankful I found such a welcoming church. I love how Pastor Ron explains the scripture so well. For the first time in my life I have complete faith in Jesus Christ. I will say it was pretty intimidating the first time I went in because of all the lights and the loud music but in my personal opinion I love it! I love the immersive experience. I feel so connected to not only god but to everyone around me in that moment. I highly recommend everyone to come here!

  Redemption became home for us 8/3/2025 my boyfriends daughter and her fiance attend Redemption they had invited us to join them, we drove from Tracy to go and now we go every Sunday to receive the Lords word 🤗 we had left our previous church that we attended for 2 years, it was hard to let go but we made the best decision leaving it. From the moment you enter Redemption you can feel the love, the warmth, the welcoming, so many smile, just feels like your walking into a family reunion🥰 Redemption has been absolutely amazing 🙌🏻 we have grown and learned so much from Pastor Ron, at first I will admit I didn't want to give it a chance because I felt nothing can compare to our previous church, then I heard Pastor Ron and I was just amazed! Just mind blowing 🤯 Pastor Ron's teachings are deep, you can see he puts in so much love into each teaching, I looked at my boyfriend and said this is HOME 🥹 I see some of the reviews and I'm honestly I'm surprised that some love Redemption but still give 1-2 🌟 some reviews are about the loud worship music that it feels like a concert, but think about it we go and sit 4 hours listening to really loud music, screaming, yelling from fans just to hear a favorite rap artist vs 30 minutes of glorifying and praising our Lord, there is comments about not teaching you about sin, if you know about sin and yet we continue to sin why not learn how the Holly spirit can give us decrement, convict us when we are doing something that is not right, bring correction in our life, just seems like we are just use to hearing about sin, the devil and rules they want more religion vs how to connect and learn to have a better understanding and relationship with the Holly Spirit, learning the foundation of what our Lord has gifted us, how we can be the salt of the earth, to spread His Devine word, there's comments about tithing, how many of us go to Starbucks almost everyday or a favorite spot to eat? I will be the first to say I didn't want to give anything and would tell my boyfriend why are you giving that much? now I truly understand why we give our tithe and I make sure we have our tithing, the Lord provides so much for us, has blessed us why not give back to the church? to pay for the electricity, water, child care, feeding those in need, helping others. Pastor Ron has helped us to understand so much, the importance of having a relationship with our Heavenly Father. I absolutely love Pastor Ron and Hope and this is the best Church we have been attending and will continue to go and grow 🙏🏻🥰🙌🏻

  The church is really great! I’ve been here a few times and I’m pretty sure I’m going to make it my home church. I just really wish they offered a young adult group (in person). They only offer online and i feel like you can’t truly build a connection with others just online. Everything else is great! Worship team is 10/10! Pastor Ron is great also!

  These people water down the scriptures. Never ever hear them teach about hell // death // & the consequences of sin they watered down all bible verses to make you feel good And they beg for donations ….. Also there’s a cafe shop right in front of the theater and they make all Volunteers work for free while charging & selling and exchanging money right in front of the so called church. 1.This place it’s more like a theater/concert 2. They keep you away from The truth of heaven & hell ; they don’t speak or teach you; because if they were to speak the truth, nobody would be happy , so that’s why they keep you happy by doing a lot of singing and showing a lot of advertisements for their own desires 3.promoting slavery to make some one else rich 4. They do more Singing and advertisement than preaching the truth and the consequences of sin! 5. They don’t teach the Gospel 2 Timothy 4:3, where Paul warns that people will seek out teachers who cater to their desires rather than sound doctrine, seeking messages that tickle their ears instead of truth.

  One day I was walking through my bedroom and heard someone say something Biblical that was like nothing I had ever heard. I had thought it, but never heard anyone else preach it. And I thought, yes! Who is this guy preaching Kingdom? It was Ron Carpenter. That was about 7 or 8 years ago and I have listened to him every since. I am a " if your gonna preach it, it better line up with the word" person. His preaching is amazing and teaches the word like you may have never heard it before. When we get born again, we are born into a new kingdom. Our life here is manifesting the Kingdom of God in the earth. All creation is waiting for the sons of God to be manifested in the earth. I listen to him while I work and have powerful annointed moments where the Holy Spirit falls on me right in the middle of working. For any of you only seeing "$$" when you goto this church I want to caution you to be careful about speaking against the man of God. If all you are seeing is things about money please check your own heart and spirit. I used to pray God, whatever is you, I want it. Too many churches are trying to teach you how to maintain your salvation according to your good deeds. This church will teach you how to walk in power and authority in the earth with a kingdom mindset. .

  An Apostate church does not deal with the topic of sin! Rather its message is primarily focused upon the acceptance of social norms and worldly truth rather than the truth found in scripture. My attendance at redemption felt like a concert or production. Focused on flashy things versus truly praising the Lord Jesus Christ. They had drones flying around. Pastor Ron did not open the Bible until 20 minutes into the sermon. He read 6 verses and then taught we from his own book that he wrote. To the people that wanted to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior were to be given a Bible from the church but advertised that these new believers will get autographed Bibles from the pastor and his wife. As if it is increasing the value of the Bible. The entire worship and sermon spoke nothing about specific sins but generalities and how great God is but not shedding light in the walk of the Lord that Jesus desires us to walk so we are not lost. My heart goes out to the Pastor and leadership that they feel convicted about the way they lead this Church. By this experience this church is an example of an Apostate Church. I pray for this Church.

  From the second you walk into the church you can tell it's all about money, they have t-shirts, sweaters, coffee, bottles ofwater and snacks all for sale. When did church become about making a $ off you to hear the message of God. Pastor message is clouded made fun of people who "weren't good singers" . The service lasted 2 hours and again they stop the service and put up a way you can tide/donate and it lasted 5 10 minutes before they went on to something else. This was my 1st and last time going to this church. Money hungry and twisted messages.

  We’ve been visiting only six weeks now. We absolutely love the worship and have personally met with Ron and Hope Carpenter. These people have given their heart❤️ to come out here to the Bay Area and brought their own finances to upgrade the church. We are now part of Redemption Church. It is so interesting that other families from local churches have also joined us. I literally woke up on Sunday and the Holy Spirit told us to visit, ever since then I have not been able to stop crying at every service as the Word delivered by Ron Carpenter is a real Mind changer. Your old mindsets will be removed! Very strong sense of the Holy Spirit, as well as incredible worship that breaks through so that the Word of God delivered from the pulpit is solid. My children love the youth group and my wife can’t stop dancing during worship. At one of the services that was led by Hope Carpenter she was prayed over, Ever since then she has been liberated inner spirit. Coming from a strong Chinese background she’s been set free to worship God and be freed in her worship toward God. I’ve been in many ministries and churches and I absolutely know that Ron was sent here by God to be the Apostolic anointing to unlock Silicon Valley spiritually!! Get ready!!
